CREATIVE EXPRESSION - PART 2

Below are pictures and text showcasing the environmental art I created during my

time spent in Puerto Viejo (January 2019 to September 2019)

Directly below is a close up of the beautiful shells I gathered off the beach and used to create a stunning piece of temporary art.

Directly below is one version of the temporary art I created. Its  simple freeform circle created from various shells, mostly oyster shells with their beautiful sparkly undersides.

Directly below is another close-up. The texture of the shells is just as important as the soft blues, creams, browns and greens colours.

Environmental Shell Art 4.jpg

Directly below is a variation of the circle with a piece of small driftwood lying across the top giving it another look. Still abstract and still spontaneous and organic.

Directly below is another close up. What I love about this piece is how the beach provided all I needed to create my art, the sand and the many shells used.

Directly below is the circle and I would like to point out the large yellow shell on the top right hand corner, it's the only one of its kind in the whole piece!

Directly below is the last close-up and in this one we can see the shiny pearly undersides of the oyster shells which are truly beautiful!

Environmental Shell Art 5.jpg

Directly below we can see that the circle is perfect in its imperfection. There are whole shells as well as shells with holes and broken edges. Some edges are smooth and some are rough, they all compliment each other!
