THE BRIDGE - EL PUENTE
Soup kitchen for the indigenous Bribri people

February 5th 2019-Saturday 31st August 2019 (My hostel volunteer positions compliment
the soup kitchen hours)
(Tuesdays 8.30-12.30pm, Thursdays 8.30pm -12.30pm, & Saturdays 11.30pm-2.30pm)
-Set up tables with milk, sugar, chilero, milk and plastic spoons
_Serve soups, coffee fruit juice, bread and crackers to the Bribri people and other guests
-Create crafts and play with the indigenous children
-Make a variety of dark chocolate using raw cacao bars, make pico de gallo and sauerkraut
-Wash up plates, bowls, cutlery and cups
-Wipe down tables and chairs up after the soup kitchen closes
-Create pretty bags for children to collect Easter eggs for annual Easter Party which
caters up to 150 guests
-Help to coordinate other volunteers to create and fill pretty baskets with various candy
and gifts to give to Bribri families
-Help to hide painted Easter eggs in the gardens for the children´s Easter egg hunt
LAZY LOFT HOSTEL

-Work various shifts on the reception

-Process payments inc debit and credit cards
-Give customers a tour of the hostel

-Cash handling inc payments for laundry, shuttle charges etc
-Check-out guests
-Buy basic supplies for the hostel
-Top up soap dispenser and refill toilet paper
-Regular checks to ensure that kitchen, shower and toilets are clean
-Open hostel and set up reception on the morning shift
-Close reception and lock away mini safe, the laptop, room keys and the deposit box,
-Close the main door on the evening shift

FAUNA LUXURY HOSTEL
FOOD PREPARATION ASSISTANT

Breakfast & Dinner Service - 6.30am to 11.30am & 5pm to 10pm - Professional bar & kitchen
-Clean tables, chairs and surfaces in main area and also the bar and surrounding areas
-Clean the shared kitchen area including wiping surfaces and putting away pans, pots and utensils
-Empty the bins and wipe down the lids
-Help in the kitchen - make fruit smoothies, chop and store fruits and vegetables, prepare
coffee pots, make toast, portion up glasses of juice and small fruit salads as and when requested,
-Wash up large volumes (200+) of dirty plates, cutlery, cups, glasses, pots, pans,
chopping boards
-Prepare extra containers of fruits and vegetables in advance for arrival of large groups (100+) and top up during busy shift
and other kitchenware using power washer
-Dry and put away plates, cutlery, cups, glasses, pots, pans and other kitchenware
-Clean the seating area toilets including mopping the floors
-Sweep main dinning area and the front of the bar
