Marvin of Reparaciones de Costa Rica located in Plaza Viquez helped me when he didnt have to!

I took my Acer in to donate to the repairs shop. I know that you're like 'donate'?

Yep so my Acer had so many problems I just wanted to give it away! I was tempted to throw it in the bin but couldnt bring myself to do it as it still powered on.

Below are the many problems I had with my Acer.

*Black screen of death, no display just black, power is on.

*Some keys on the keyboard not working so cannot type!

*USB not picking up external keyboard, still cannot type!

*Mouse not working fully.

I had the acer and charger bagged up ready to donate and walkaway but Marvin asked me to wait s5-10 minutes as it might be the software causing the screen issue.

My Spanish isn´t great so I had prewritten a message in Spanish explaining the laptop many porblems and that I wanted to donate it as I had no money to repair it.

I waited 15 minutes and iimen that t he flashed the BIOS and got it working again...yippee! He noticed the keheyboard wasn´t working well and that the mouse was also in poor shape. He said he might have a spare keyboard so I asked the price as the repair shops in La cueva in Downtown San Jose quoted me 15,000 colones and 30,000 colones just to replace the keyboard! Even at 15,000 it was way out of what I could afford.

He changed the keyboard and then told not to worry about the money. I was like WOW - he changed it for free! Amazing result as I wasn´t even expecting that the screen could be repaired.

If anybody reading this is in San Jose and needs a reapir to their laptop, tablet or mobile phone then please show Marvin Camercho and his repair shop some love1

The repair centre is large, ,very neat, tidy and organized and best thing is that they are very friendy and helpful! Marvin speaks a good level of English, I had prewritten a message in Spanish but in the end we were able to speak in English which was a bonus!
